Joao MB Costa
Joao Manuel Boaventura Ferrera da Costa, or Joao MB Costa in short, is BLUR’s impactful visualisation ninja 🥷 (Yes, we don’t take ourselves too seriously). Originally from Cascais, Portugal, Joao moved to Amsterdam in 2001 for work. He started studying at SAE Institute Amsterdam and fell in love with film making, so much that he switched careers to being a full-time film maker. And the rest is history: he has built over twenty years of experience as a camera operator, video producer and director, and is one of the main film teachers at the very same school where he once learned the basics of film making and camera work himself. Joao can often be found filming at Paradiso Amsterdam, where he combines his his work with his passion for music.

Iris Mathijssen
Iris Mathijssen is BLUR’s Customer Relations Sensei, meaning that you’ll probably get her on the phone when you reach out to us📲 With a background in IT Process Management and IT Sourcing & Vendor Management, she has a thorough understanding of the business world. But being a busy bee and with an appetite to learn all kinds of different things (life motto: “You don’t need to be only one thing!”), she started a short course in video production at SAE Institute Amsterdam in 2022. That’s when she met Joao, who was her film teacher and involved her in many of his film projects. Et voilà , a new profession was born: Iris can now call herself a video maker as well.
